Detail and liner brushes for the small work: eyes, outlines, lettering, signatures, miniatures and model painting.

A liner brush has long, thin bristles that hold enough paint for a long unbroken line. A detail brush is short and stiff for tiny, controlled marks. The Signature Detail & Liner Brush Set with Thick Grip ($13.99) gives you both, with a chunky handle that is easier to hold steady. The synthetic taklon hair suits acrylic, watercolour and gouache.

Thin your paint a little with water so it flows off the tip, and rinse straight after use so the point stays sharp. For everyday flats and rounds see acrylic brushes or the full painting brushes range. Dispatched from Morningside, Auckland in 1–3 working days. Free NZ shipping over $75.
