Start with the black ink and the dip pen. Once you've got the feel of how much ink the nib holds and how to load it without flooding, branch into the colour inks. Inks are unforgiving — don't worry, that's part of the practice.

What surfaces work with ink?

Smooth paper (140gsm or higher), watercolour paper, illustration board, primed canvas. Rough texture eats the nib and bleeds.

Can I mix the inks?

Yes — the bottles are water-based and mix freely. Black + a little colour = a beautiful muted version.

How long does the ink set last?

The 12 small bottles will see most beginners through 3–6 months of practice. The dip pen is reusable indefinitely if you rinse it after use.
