A3 is the size a lot of NCEA art teachers ask for. It gives you space for proper folio drawings, studies and design layouts without squashing everything into a corner. It's also a good size for life drawing classes, where you want to draw from the shoulder rather than the wrist.

The 150gsm acid-free paper is heavier than a standard school pad, so it takes pencil, charcoal, pastel and ink without feeling flimsy. A heavyweight backing card gives you a firm surface when you're drawing on your knee.
