Clear gloss varnish for sealing baked polymer clay pieces. If you've made jewellery, charms, miniatures or sculptures from Make n Bake clay and want them to last — this is the finish.

120ml of water-based clear gloss varnish. Dries glossy and protects baked polymer clay from scuffs, fingerprints, and minor moisture. Mont Marte Signature line. Ships from our Manukau Auckland warehouse.

How to use

1. Make sure your piece is fully baked and cooled (or air-dried 48 hours)
2. Apply a thin coat with a soft brush — don't pool
3. Let dry 1–2 hours
4. Second coat for extra protection — recommended for jewellery you'll wear

FAQ

Is it food-safe?

No — water-based clear varnish isn't food-safe. Don't use on items that contact food or get washed in a dishwasher.

Can I use it over painted clay?

Yes — it locks acrylic paint underneath. Make sure paint is fully dry first (24 hours).

Will it yellow over time?

Indoor pieces stay clear for years. Direct sunlight will eventually yellow any water-based varnish — store finished pieces away from prolonged UV.
